RØDECaster Pro II software: the app, the firmware, the setup.
The full-size console runs the RØDECaster App on Windows and macOS and firmware 1.7.6. Here is what the app controls on it and how to keep it current.
What the app does on the Pro II
Connect the console to your computer with the supplied USB-C cable (a USB-C to USB-A cable such as RØDE’s SC18 if your machine only has USB-A), open the RØDECaster App, and the Pro II appears in the list on the left. Click it and you get the device info — firmware version and free storage — plus every configuration page.
Audio Setup
The six physical faders are the icons top-left, the three virtual faders top-right. Below them sit the nine channels: the four analog inputs on the top row, Bluetooth, USB and SMART pads on the bottom. Drag a source onto a fader to assign it. From the same page you recolour channels, stereo-link pairs, unassign a fader, or clear every assignment at once.
Device Configuration
Outputs covers headphone type, monitor output and the multitrack settings. Display is brightness and metering. System is MIDI, language, date and time, and the network settings you use to put the console on Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
SMART pads, recordings, firmware
Sounds go onto the eight pads by drag and drop or the file picker, with eight banks for 64 actions in total. Recordings come off the microSD card through Transfer Mode, with trimming and platform export presets. Firmware updates are offered automatically when the console is connected, and the Pro II can also update itself over the network. Guides: SMART pads, recordings, firmware.
Use USB 1 for the desktop app. USB 2 is the second computer or phone interface, and since app version 2.0.65 it also accepts RØDE wireless receivers as sources.
