Updating RØDECaster firmware.
Two routes for the Pro II, Duo and Video, one for the original Pro, and the current version of each.

Route 1: over the network (recommended)
RØDE’s preferred method, and usually the faster one. Once the Pro II, Duo or Video is on Wi-Fi or Ethernet it downloads and installs firmware itself, with no computer in the loop.
- Connect the console to the internet: Pro II and Duo under Settings → System → Network; Video under Advanced Configuration → System → Network → Wi-Fi (or plug in Ethernet).
- When new firmware is out, the console prompts you on its own screen. Accept, and leave it alone until it reboots.
- Keep it connected afterwards and every future update arrives the same way.
Route 2: over USB with the app
- Uninstall any previous RØDECaster App.
- Download and install the current version from the download page.
- Connect the console: USB 1 on the Pro II and Duo, USB 2 on the Video with a SuperSpeed cable.
- Select it in the left-hand list. If it is behind, the app prompts you; follow the prompt.
Don’t unplug the console or close the app until the update reports complete. If the progress bar sits at 100% for a long time, that specific hang was fixed in the app in late 2025 — update the app and try again, or switch to the network route.
Original RØDECaster Pro
The 2018 console is updated only by the RØDECaster Pro Companion App: install it, connect over USB, launch it, and it prompts you to install firmware 2.1.2. The RØDECaster App and RØDE Central do not see this unit.
Streamer X
Updated through the RØDECaster App over USB. Firmware 1.2.0 added USB hosting and needs app 2.0.102 or newer to be offered.
