RØDECaster Pro Companion App for the original RØDECaster Pro.
The 2018 console is not supported by the new RØDECaster App. It uses its own Companion App — version 2.1.2 on Windows and 2.1.3 on Mac — and firmware 2.1.2. Both are hosted here.
Two apps, two generations
RØDE built the RØDECaster Pro Companion App in 2019 for the original RØDECaster Pro, and it remains the only way to update that unit’s firmware. The RØDECaster App that arrived in 2025 covers the Pro II, Duo, Video and Streamer X and does not recognise the original console at all. If the app you installed cannot see your RØDECaster Pro, this is almost certainly why.
What the Companion App does
- Firmware updates — it prompts you automatically when the console is connected.
- Sound pad customisation: load your own sounds onto the eight pads across eight banks, 64 in total.
- Granular effects and processing control.
- Saving and loading settings.
- Podcast exporting from the console’s recordings.
Updating the firmware
- Download the Companion App for your platform from the download page.
- Connect the RØDECaster Pro to the computer over USB.
- Launch the app. It prompts you to update to firmware 2.1.2 if the console is behind.
Windows ASIO driver
Windows users who want the console as a low-latency ASIO audio interface can install the separate RØDECaster ASIO driver, also on the download page.
macOS 10.13 or later (the current Mac build runs natively on Apple Silicon), or Windows 10 version 1803 or later.
